Hot gas generator
Hot gas generators are used in all technical processes which allow a direct contact between the product and the flue gas.
Field of application:
- Drying
- Heating
- Tempering
- Dehydrating
- Exhaust fume purification
- Calcination
- Initiating chemical processes
- Expanded processes
- Flue-gas heating
- Thermal post-combustion
Range of performance:
Hot gas temperatures:
- Standard: 400°C – 1,100°C
- Special design: between 100°C and just below flame temperature
- In case of pulverised coal firing, up t o ash melting point
Solid fuels:
- Hard coal, lignite coke, anthracite, coke, sawdust ,alternative fuels
Liquid fuels:
- Oil of any viscosity as well as crude oil, creosote, bitumen, waste oil, liquid gas and solvents
Gaseous fuels:
- Natural gas, coke gas, blast furnace gas, biogas, liquid gas
Advantages:
- Durable construction
- Easy operation and minimal maintenance
- High level of safety in operation, thus greater reliability
- Low operating costs, partly because of minimal loss of combustion and tempering air pressure
- Largest turn down ratio for many different fuels, influenced by fuel quality
- Designs for operation with high pressure or partial vacuum
